Cummins demuestra su compromiso brindando a niños con discapacidades la posibilidad de adquirir experiencia laboral en compañías locales

At a free event promoted at businesses in the East of England organised by Cummins Generator Technologies and the Willoughby School, local businesses were invited to learn more about the benefits of providing work experience opportunities for children with learning difficulties. The Willoughby School located in Bourne, Lincolnshire, is a long standing community partner of Cummins Generator Technologies, and provides education for children with a wide range of disabilities.

Providing work experience opportunities for pupils of the Willoughby School is a high priority for Head Teacher Adam Booker, as he explained during the evening event. Guests learnt about the multiple benefits for pupils, including building their moral and self-esteem and experiencing environments that would be totally alien to the children.

At the event, Executive Director of Cummins Generator Technologies, Vikrant Aggarwal, opened proceeding by explaining the benefits Cummins has received and the positive experience of hosting pupils in areas such as; alternator assembly, the kitchens and reception. Guests also were able to watch a video of the pupils in action on their work placements and see the positive impact it had for themselves.

Cummins Health and Safety officer, Steve Earl, was also on hand to give guidance and experience on how risk assessments and due care were taken for the children.
